What courses and programs does Fretster Music Academy offer?
We offer traditional private lessons as well as opportunities to play in bands, join our Big Band, and participate in various workshops to enhance your skills and meet other musicians.
What genres of music do you teach?
Visualization is a fundamental aspect of our teaching. At Fretster, we have developed a new system to visualize the musical process, making it easier for both children and adults to understand music and identify areas they need to improve.
How do I enroll in a course?
If you want to try your first lesson and are under 18, the trial lesson is free of charge. You can sign up for it on our website. If you are 18 or older, the cost of a trial lesson is €20.
What is the tuition fee structure?
We have visualized the entire musical process for both children and adults. Our approach is unique and tailored to each individual because everyone has different skills and needs.

The Band Workshop is a musical group that includes drums, bass guitar, guitar, piano, vocals, and wind instruments. The focus is on learning to write your own songs for future recordings, concerts, and sharing this content on YouTube.
How long does the program last?
Each Band Workshop session lasts for 1 hour per week.
What does the Band Workshop fee include?
The fee includes one hour of lessons per week with an instructor, as well as one professional video or audio recording session per year. If the band is able to write songs quickly, more recording sessions will be scheduled based on the band’s progress.
Can beginners join the Band Workshop?
Absolutely! If you have some basic skills, you can take a trial lesson with an instructor who will assess your readiness to join the band.
How are the lessons organized?
Individual lessons are scheduled once a week at a fixed time, either through a contract or by purchasing 10 lessons. The instructor sets goals or helps you set your own, focusing on independent practice on your instrument, listening to the right music, and using various learning programs on your phone or computer.
What instruments can I learn at Fretster Music Academy?
You can learn to play all the instruments available on stage: bass guitar, guitar, piano, vocals, drums, saxophone, trumpet, rap, and music production.
Do you offer individual lessons as well as group lessons?
Yes, you can sign up for a trial individual lesson through our website.
What are the lesson times?
Lesson times depend on your personal preference. Typically, younger children up to 8 years old and their parents opt for 30-minute lessons per week. For students over 9 years old, we recommend 45-minute lessons per week for better musical development. Adults often choose 60-minute lessons per week.
How can I check the availability of a class or instructor?
Sign up for a trial lesson, and the instructor will provide all the necessary information.
Can I change my class schedule after enrollment?

Who are the instructors at Fretster Music Academy?
Our instructors are specialists from around the world who have received formal music education. In addition, all our instructors regularly perform at concerts and are professional musicians.
What qualifications do the instructors have?
Our instructors have a range of qualifications, from bachelor’s degrees to master’s degrees in professional music or music education.
Can I choose my instructor?
Yes, of course! We offer a personalized approach since not every instructor is a perfect fit for every student. We consider both the client’s preferences and the instructor’s desire to work with specific students. We will do everything possible to ensure you’re satisfied.
Do I need to bring my own instrument?
You are welcome to bring your own instrument, but we have all the necessary instruments available at our music school. If you wish to buy an instrument, you can also rent one from us.
Does the academy provide instruments for practice?
Yes, of course! We provide instruments, and if you sign a contract, you can use our practice rooms and the instruments located there.
Are there any recording facilities available?
Unfortunately, you cannot use the studio on your own, but if you arrange it with an instructor, you may be able to record something for personal use.
Does the academy organize concerts or performances?
Yes, of course! Follow our news updates. We have many bands, and we organize various concerts, including recitals for our music school bands as well as jam sessions and individual concerts.
How often do students get to record music?
June and the end of the year are usually busy periods for recording music.
Are recordings included in the Band Workshop program?
Yes, if the band has prepared a song or a cover, we are committed to recording it once a year as per the contract. If the band progresses quickly and prepares more songs or performance material, we schedule additional recordings during the academic year.
What is your cancellation and refund policy?
5.1 The teaching contract may be terminated with two months’ notice, either by February 28 (notice by December 31) or by August 31 (notice by June 30).
5.2 Both parties have the right to terminate the contract for important reasons, such as moving more than 10 km away or long-term illness, with appropriate proof.
5.3 All cancellations must be made in writing to be effective.
Do you offer make-up lessons for missed classes?
Yes, instructors are required to make up all lessons they have missed. Unfortunately, if lessons are canceled by the student, make-up lessons are not guaranteed.
What are the terms of enrollment at the academy?
You need to send a request for a trial lesson. After the trial lesson, you or the instructor can decide if it is a good fit. If you wish to continue, you can email our support team at info@fretster.de with your preferred start date. You have the option to sign a contract or purchase 10 lessons. For workshops, no contract is required. Anyone, even nonacademy students, can participate.
